Fishing Trawler 2
This is a premium model and one of the best sellers. Haji Essa put his lifetime experience and savings on this craft. Hitherto fiber glass was taboo in this country; “Plastic boats will break at sea” was the opinion of conservative fishermen. The wooden trawlers in spite of all shortcomings had certain characteristics specific to our environment. A GRP vessel does not prefer congested harbors, a condition which needed to be catered for by providing additional strength in frames and beams, this can only be done with years of experience. After the first boat the mould has never been idle in the past four years. Over a score of such vessels have made their name in, economy, reliability, sea keeping, low maintenance, speed, strength water tightness, hygienic conditions, ease of cleaning and excellent insulation of fish holds. The popularity is such that often customers are declined due to heavy booking.
The craft can be used in many versions viz: Bottom trawler, gill netter, long liner. With a 100m3 fish hold and 4″ thick PU foam insulation the catch comes home fresh.
Powering is according to customer’s needs, it can be from 200-1000HP single or twin engine. Separate generators, compressors or auxiliary equipment can be installed on request.
It will be admitted that the craft are heavily overdesigned in strength as the craft need to withstand the crowding at jetties and need to force their way out.
As the popularity increases different fishing methods are requested. Often the layout is tailor made to user demands. Wheel house forward, amidships and aft, net hauling spreaders aft, fish hold interior layout change, relocation of mast, relocation of winch are a few to mention.
We have received international inquiries and are preparing to further improve quality. Recently an air conditioned workshop has been commissioned. Consistent raw material quality is now ensured through fixed suppliers.
