The success of first 60 ft hull form made us think of additional applications PATROL and PLEASURE versions were designed. The petroleum boat required good sea keeping, endurance, comfortable accommodation, galley, refrigeration, air conditioning, lounge and other ancillaries. The stem was reinforced to satisfy customer demand. In the initial craft a diesel driven water cannon was also added.
The craft are single engine driven with an option of twin drive. Rudder is hydraulic. Wheel house, lounge and galley are teak lined. The craft generally complies with SOLAS and in wheel house is fitted, compass, VHF, GPS plotter and navigator, electrical control panel, engine instruments and other accessories necessary for efficient operations.
Good all round visibility is ensured by three windows forward, two on sides and one aft with visibility up to quarter deck. Coxwain has seating and resting arrangement. Sliding doors and opening windows allow good ventilation in hot weathers. If required this space can be air conditioned.
The lounge is generally located in superstructure with ample windows and lighting. Interior layout is to customer requirement, including air conditioning. Lower cabin is similarly laid out as per user specifications. Crew accommodation is normally forward of wheel house. Galley and heads are placed aft of superstructure with automatic pumping system.
The boat carries 3,000 liters diesel and 1,500 liters of fresh water. These capacities can be increased for longer endurance. Food is stored in dry ration space or deep freezers and refrigerators. Cooking energy is through LPG gas cylinders kept outside the galley. Electrical cooker and many other accessories can be supplied on request. Ample free space of about 20ft is available on quarter deck for open deck or awning area.
Is the best seller of Essa and Sons. Many attempts were made to produce a Fiber Glass Trawler for Pakistan. Fishermen like farmers are conservative and do not like change, it is not enough to know boat design but essential that the practices, lifestyles, techniques, harbor conditions, fish handling practices, human psyche and economic forces are taken into account. A GRP vessel does not prefer congested harbors, a condition which needed to be catered for by providing additional strength in frames and beams. This can only be done with years of experience, Haji Essa staked everything and ventured in making the first trawler.
We have received international inquiries and are preparing to further improve quality. Recently an air conditioned workshop has been commissioned. Consistent raw material quality is now ensured through fixed suppliers.
